Immigrant Muslims in the area form the Islamic Association of North Carolina (IANC). Friday prayers held at apartment complex (King’s Village) initially. Later on, Friday prayers held at NC State University Student Center. Eid prayers held in parking lots.

MSA/IANC collects money from community members to build the first Mosque in Raleigh in 1985. With many students returning to their home countries, the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and local Muslims join hands to form the Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR).

The Triangle area Muslim community continued to grow in size with many families with children making the area their home. With this increase came the need to provide a strong Islamic education for the Muslim children in the area. To meet the need the IAR established a full-time Islamic school called Al-Iman School.

The Islamic Association of Raleigh purchases property at 3104 Page Road in Morrisville, NC for future development of a IAR’s second campus.

Phase 1 of the IAR Page Road Campus begins with 11,400 sq. ft. educational facility and community center.

Leaders at the Islamic Association of Raleigh officially announce the plan to open their fourth full-time Islamic school, Creative Scholars Academy to be housed on the Page Road Campus.

The Creative Scholars Academy officially opened its doors to students in August 2025. The initial opening served Preschool to 2nd grade students with the plan to open one additonal grade level each year.
